Ceraunius is a new type for me, bought from garlicana.com, growing out for the first time this year, with limited yield, if any, available for 2021. It is progeny of Arsia, itself a progeny of Krasnodar White. It is showing significant variation from its grandparent's Porcelain heritage- increased clove count and bulb coloration are the first obvious difference, along with a petit plant structure and an early maturation. I will have to see how it does here before I say more- first-year garlics from the Pacific Northwest behave oddly in their first year out here, so we'll see how it goes!
Bred by Avram Drucker of Garlicana Farm, Ceraunius is one of the many results of his years of work in true garlic seed production (see more about true seed production here). Check out Avram's site to learn more about it, and his work.
